As several of you have noticed, the murder rates of trans women of color in the U.S. are staggering, if not heart breaking.
In the recent article put out in Time magazine they write, “The number of transgender people murdered in the U.S. this year is at a historic high of 15, activists say — with over four months still to go.”
“The risk is even greater for transgender women of color, who often grapple with both transphobia and racism. Sixteen of the at least 20 LGBT people murdered in 2014 were people of color, according to the NCAVP; 11 were transgender women, and 10 were transgender women of color.”
